REGINA - Regina resident Darryl Kuntz checked the Lotto Spot app and saw there was a $250,000 Extra winner. He never expected his Lotto Max and Extra ticket would be the winner.

“I had to run and get my wife to tell her while she was tucking in our son,” he laughed. “She didn’t believe it at first!”

The winner said he and his wife have been dreaming of a lottery win for years and they already have plans brewing.

“A big chunk will go to our kids’ education,” he explained. “The majority will go toward our house and maybe a big family vacation.”

“We’re pretty big future planners so this will really help with everything!” he added. “It could even knock a few years off our retirement plans.”

Kuntz purchased his winning Lotto Max and Extra ticket for $6 at the Lotteries Kiosk in Cornwall Centre Mall, located at 2102 11 Ave. in Regina. He won his prize by matching all seven digits on the Extra drawn on Feb. 2 – 5877239.

Sask Lotteries is celebrating 50 years as the main fundraiser for more than 12,000 sport, culture and recreation groups in communities across the province! Since 1974, through an agreement with the Government of Saskatchewan, lottery sales in Saskatchewan have been used to provide more than $1.4 billion to support athletes from the grassroots level to the international stage, connect youth to artistic experiences, help residents experience the beauty of the parks that cover the province and so much more.
