REGINA — The City of Regina is set to advance its Red Light Safety Program, targeting improved driver behaviour, enhanced pedestrian safety, and reduced right-turn collisions.
Effective April 1, an enforcement phase will be initiated at the intersection of Dewdney Avenue and Lewvan Drive.
Under the program’s expansion, drivers who neglect to stop at a red light before executing a right turn will face fines of $230. This measure aims to curb dangerous driving practices and promote compliance with traffic regulations.
While the focus intensifies at Dewdney Avenue and Lewvan Drive, warning notices for rolling right turns will persist at two other key camera-equipped intersections: Albert Street and Parliament Avenue and Albert Street and Saskatchewan Drive.
Drivers will be ticketed for running a red light at all three intersections.
