Regina: 6 month old baby missing

There is no reason to believe Alphonse Brass has come to harm, however, he is vulnerable because of his age: RPS

REGINA — The Regina Police Service is asking for public assistance in locating a six-month-old baby.

Alphonse Brass was last seen on Friday, Sept. 1 at approximately 4 p.m., near the Northgate Mall. On Sunday, Sept. 3 at approximately 1:30 p.m., the Regina Police Service received a missing person report for Alphonse Brass from his legal guardian.  The baby is believed to be with his biological mother, Alicia Matechuk, whose whereabouts are also unknown.

Alphonse Brass is described as male, six months old, Indigenous with light brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a onesie and pants with light coloured animals on them.

Alicia Matechuk is described as female, 25 years old,  Indigenous, five foot nine, weighing 150 pounds, with straight long black hair and brown eyes.

There is no reason to believe Alphonse has come to harm, however he is vulnerable because of his age and police need to locate him to ensure his safety.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Alphonse Brass or Alicia Matechuk or sees a person matching these descriptions is asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Regina Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).  The Regina Police Service thanks the public and the media for their assistance in this matter.
