REGINA -The 2023 Queen City Ex is now officially underway.
The annual exhibition opened at noon Wednesday and runs from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. daily August 2 to 6 on the REAL District grounds.
The midway rides and food vendors will again be the most notable attractions but there will be plenty of other events going on and here is some of what to expect:
Once again, the Pile O’Bones Rodeo will be on for two days, featuring events including bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, steer wrestling, team roping, and barrel racing. It runs August 4 and 5.
The QCX Eating Contest is back for the second year in a row on Friday presented by SaskTel and the Regina Food Bank. A star-studded selection of Regina personalities will be on hand at Brandt Centre for the mini-donut eating competition against famed competitive eater Joey Chestnut, who hopes to break the record he set last year of 255 mini-donuts.
This year the Original Six stage features Regina Symphony Orchestra, Flo Rida, Boyz II Men, James Barker Band, and Finger Eleven. A last minute change sees the Toronto band Sloan replace Sebastian Bach on August 6.
