Oil site thefts on the rise around Unity

RCMP Report – June 25 - July 1

Unity Report

RCMP received a complaint of theft. Members spoke to the subject of complaint and the stolen item was returned to the owner. No charges were laid.

Members received a report of defamatory libel but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a complaint of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was located burned on a highway near North Battleford. Insufficient evidence to proceed.

Members conducted a wellbeing check at the request of a family member.

RCMP received a complaint of an individual in a residence yard. Members patrolled but could not locate the subject of complaint.

Police received a complaint of theft at an oil site. This matter is still under investigation.

Members received another complaint of theft at an oil site. This matter is still under investigation.

RCMP received another complaint of theft at an oil site. This matter is still under investigation.

Members spoke to an individual regarding a child custody concern

Police received a report of a single vehicle collision. There were no injuries. This matter is still under investigation.

RCMP received a report of an individual hearing gunshots. The complainant informed members it was only fireworks.

There were also five traffic complaints, two false 911 calls and four false alarms.

Wilkie Report

RCMP received a complaint of an individual not complying with an undertaking condition. This matter is still under investigation.

Police received a complaint of theft. This matter is still under investigation.

Members received a complaint of theft but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

RCMP received a complaint of individuals damaging a residence. This matter is still under investigation.

Members are investigating a complaint of uttering threats.

Police received a request to keep the peace while an individual retrieved personal property from a residence.

Members conducted a wellbeing check at the request of a family friend.

RCMP received a complaint of an unwanted individual at a residence. Members attended. The property representative declined to proceed.

There were also three traffic complaints.

Macklin Report

RCMP conducted a property check at the request of the residence owner.

A 26-year-old female from Hayter was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle during a traffic stop. The vehicle driver was also issued three traffic tickets.

Members issued a 21-day roadside suspension during a traffic stop.

 

RCMP Report – July 2 - 8

Unity Report

RCMP received a complaint of theft but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of a two-vehicle collision near Unity. There were no injuries. Reported for insurance purposes.

RCMP received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members spoke to the subject of complaint.

Members received another Mental Health Act complaint. The subject of complaint was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Unity Health Centre for assessment.

Police received a complaint of theft but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

RCMP spoke to an individual regarding a child welfare concern.

There were also two false alarms.

Wilkie Report

RCMP received a complaint of fraud but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a complaint of fraud but it was unfounded.

Members are investigating a complaint of theft.

Police acted as mediators in a neighbor dispute.

RCMP received a complaint of theft. This matter is still under investigation.

Members are investigating another complaint of theft.

Police received a complaint of disturbing the peace. Members patrolled but could not locate the subject of complaint.

Members issued a 72-hour roadside suspension during a traffic stop.

RCMP received a complaint of an individual damaging residential property. This matter is still under investigation.

There were also four traffic complaints.

Macklin Reports

RCMP received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members spoke to the subject of complaint.

Police received a report of a vehicle collision with a deer. There were no injuries. Reported for insurance purposes.

Members received a report of a lost wallet. The wallet has not been located.

RCMP received a report of an individual in possession of a stolen property. This matter is still under investigation.

Members spoke to an individual regarding a mental health concern.

Police received a complaint of theft of fuel from a local gas station. The subject of complaint paid for the fuel. No charges were laid.

RCMP located an abandoned vehicle on Highway 14 near Macklin. The vehicle had been reported stolen in Red Deer. This matter is still under investigation.
