The ballistic vest is a crucial tool in protecting PSD True in high-risk situations.

MOOSEJAWTODAY.COM — Update, Wednesday, Feb. 21: The MJPS has announced that PSD True's ballistic canine vest has been located and returned to the police service.

As a show of appreciation for the community's effort in helping to locate the missing vest, the MJPS has issued the following statement of thanks: "Thank you to the media and community for your assistance during the search. We greatly appreciate it!"

Original post: The Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) is asking the public for assistance with a unique situation.

On Feb. 17, following a break and enter investigation on Highland Road, the MJPS' canine assistant lost her vest in the line of duty. This is the last time PSD (Police Service Dog) True's ballistic vest has been seen.

The ballistic vest is designed to fit a dog and is described as being black in colour. Contained on the vest is her badge, name plate on one side, and the MJPS' crest on the opposite side.

The ballistic vest is a crucial tool in protecting PSD True in high-risk situations and is specifically designed to fit her comfortably.

Any assistance from the public is greatly appreciated. If you come across the vest, or what you believe to be a matching description of the vest, please contact the MJPS.

The MJPS is located at 21 Fairford Street West and can be accessed using the north entrance along Fairford Street. To contact the police department, the number is 306-694-7600.
