SASKATOON - The Major Crime Section's Historic Crime Unit is once again asking for the public's assistance into the historical homicide of Delbert James Desjarlais in Saskatoon.
It was 20 years ago today that then 46-year-old Delbert James Desjarlais was found deceased at a home in the 800 block of Avenue F North. An autopsy later confirmed he was the victim of a homicide.
The investigation into this historical homicide remains open and investigators believe members of the public may have information helpful in solving the case.
The last request for assistance was issued in 2023. Police said then it marked the 19th anniversary of the death of Desjarlais, and Saskatoon police investigators asked for the public's assistance to bring closure to Desjarlais’ family.
At approximately 9:40 p.m., Aug. 23, 2004, Saskatoon Police were dispatched to a home in the 800 block of Avenue F North after it was reported a person had been located deceased. An autopsy confirmed that Desjarlais was the victim of a stabbing.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have information on the death of Desjarlais to come forward.
