Machete used in North Battleford carjacking

A male armed with a machete approached a parked vehicle, assaulted the person inside and demanded their keys.

NORTH BATTLEFORD — Battlefords RCMP are working to locate the person who used a machete to rob a victim of their car.

On Dec. 29 at approximately 7 a.m., Battlefords RCMP received a report of a robbery on the 900 block of 109th Street.

Investigation determined an individual was in their parked vehicle when an unknown male, armed with a machete, approached the individual, assaulted them and demanded their keys. The individual, who reported non-life-threatening injuries to police, was able to flee to safety.

The male left in the vehicle and was last seen driving southbound on 109th Street.

The male is described as having a thin build and was wearing a mask and possibly a red hoodie. He was last seen driving a black 2019 Jeep Cherokee with Saskatchewan license plate 167 MII.
