Applications open for Wallace Stegner House residency program

Wallace Stegner House is an artist retreat that is operated by Eastend Arts Council Inc.

EASTEND — The Eastend Arts Council is inviting submissions for its residency program hosted at Wallace Stegner House.

Deadline for submissions for 2024 is Sept. 1, 2023.

Wallace Stegner (1909-1993) was a Pulitzer Prize-winning author and leading environmentalist. In 1989 his boyhood home in Eastend, Saskatchewan, was restored by Eastend Arts Council as a residence for visiting artists and writers. Since then, it has hosted more than 250 writers from around the world.

The artist retreat that is operated as a not-for-profit charitable corporation run by a volunteer board.

Artists and writers from around the world are invited to create and explore the land from Wallace Stegner’s historic childhood home as part of a one-month residency program.
