MOOSE JAW — The Saskatchewan Festival of Words is thrilled to announce the return of their annual festival from July 13 to 16. With readings and panels featuring some brilliant literary minds, the festival strives to engage the community with literature and the arts.

"Through its operating years, the festival has become an important fixture in the Canadian literary scene. Each year it is one of the biggest events shared with the community in Moose Jaw and is anxiously awaited in the weeks leading up to its events,' reads a release from the festival.

Over the course of the four-day festival, events will take place including not only readings and panels, but also a concert, a spoken words showcase, a trivia night, a film screening, and workshops with a few of the authors attending the festival!

In 2023, the festival is also introducing a brand new event to their schedule - a street fair will take place on the block in front of the Moose Jaw Cultural Centre on July 13 featuring mini readings from several of the authors participating in the festival and an event for children where they can use recycled materials to craft story ideas with a professional author.

The street fair will also feature vendors and food trucks to accompany the author readings taking place.

"In addition to our in-person festival, we have online options for those unable to travel! We are live streaming sessions throughout the Festival where online audiences can see every presenter at least once. These events will also have live captioning.

"The Saskatchewan Festival of Words is overjoyed to continue to share their love of Canadian literature and authors with the community during their 27th annual festival. They welcome all members of the community and surrounding areas to join them in their celebration of literature and culture!"
