The Good Spirit School Division has confirmed a lockdown, which shut down both Yorkton high schools and briefly all elementary schools has been lifted.
All the students in the city are safe, said Lynel Martinuk, spokesperson for the school division. RCMP are not commenting, but said a press release will be issued within the hour.Â
Yorkton Regional High School's annual car show was shut down early this afternoon because of some kind of disruption, which included rumours of a suspect with a gun. The students were ushered into the building and the doors were locked. RCMP also recommended other city schools be locked down as a precautionary measure.
