September 23-30, 2017 is National Coaches Week in Canada! National Coaches Week is a week to celebrate the tremendous positive impact coaches have on athletes and communities across Canada. This week is an opportunity to recognize coaches for the integral role they play by simply saying#ThanksCoach. Coaches spend countless hours preparing and leading our young athletes throughout our community and school sport seasons each year. Take a moment this week to thank your child’s coach for the role they play in your child’s life.

Kipling Minor Ball is planning a work day on Saturday, September 30th from 9am to 5pm to do the following work at the diamonds: remove existing fencing from diamonds 1 & 3; paint support poles on diamonds 1 & 3 (if time and volunteers allow, we will do the same to diamond 4). Please bring tools for cutting fence, hammers, etc. but paint and paint supplies will be supplied. Please come out and volunteer as it keeps costs down and allows more improvements to happen.

Lifestyle changes — such as getting more exercise, time in nature, or helping others — can be as effective as drugs or counseling to treat an array of mental illnesses. Exercise not only helps people feel better by reducing anxiety and depression, it can help children do better in school, improve cognitive performance in adults, reduce age-related memory loss in the elderly, and increase new neuron formation in the brain. – Roger Walsh (2011).
