Woman charged in downtown Saskatoon stabbings seeks bail

SASKATOON – A Saskatoon woman who was arrested in May and charged with two separate stabbings minutes apart downtown Saskatoon remains in custody.

Crystal Marie Pottery, 28, has a bail hearing Aug. 17. She is being held in custody on charges of assault causing bodily harm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, and breach of probation. Court records show that she was previously charged with possession of property under $5,000 obtained by crime.

Saskatoon police say the first stabbing victim was a 35-year-old woman in the area of 20th Street East and 2nd Avenue Â鶹ÊÓƵ at about 5:30 p.m. on May 25. The victim, who received minor injuries, wasn't known to Pottery.

The second stabbing victim, a 25-year-old woman, was taken to hospital after she was stabbed nearby behind a shopping centre at 20th Street East and 1st Avenue Â鶹ÊÓƵ.
