Woman charged after Big Island man seriously injured

PIERCELAND — A 35-year-old woman from Big Island Lake Cree Territory has been charged with one count of aggravated assault and one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

On Jan. 2 at approximately 11:02 p.m., Pierceland RCMP received a report of a serious assault that occurred at a residence on Big Island Lake Cree Territory. Officers immediately responded. An adult male was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious in nature.

As a result of investigation, an adult female was arrested at a residence on Big Island Lake Cree Territory on Jan. 2.

Pierceland RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP’s General Investigation Section.
