Update: Woman released, man charged instead in shooting of two teens

The teens were taken to hospital, the male in serious condition and the female with non-life-threatening injuries.

PELICAN NARROWS – Update: Police have charged 23-year-old Coltin Ballantyne from Pelican Narrows in connection to the shooting of two teens.

Ballantyne is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a restricted/prohibited weapon, two counts of discharging a firearm with intent, two counts of pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and using a firearm in an offence.

He appears in Pelican Narrows court on Dec. 18.

The woman previously taken into custody has been released without charge.

Original story: A woman has been arrested after two teenagers were shot at about 2:10 a.m. on Dec. 14 in Pelican Narrows. The teens were taken to hospital, the male in serious condition and the female with non-life-threatening injuries.

Pelican Narrows RCMP say the woman hasn’t been charged yet and they will provide updates when available.
