SASKATOON – Saskatoon police have arrested three individuals following a report of a firearm being discharged on Tuesday evening.
According to authorities, a male suspect was seen firing a weapon in the 2500 block of 18th Street West around 5:30 p.m. Police were immediately called to the scene and provided with a description of the suspect's vehicle. Shortly after, patrol officers located the vehicle in the 500 block of Avenue W Â鶹ÊÓƵ and made a traffic stop.
All occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody without incident. A search of the vehicle revealed a modified rifle and a spent ammunition casing.
In addition, a 50-year-old woman in the vehicle was found to be in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine and had an outstanding warrant.
The two males, aged 18 and 17, are now facing seven firearms-related charges each, including recklessly discharging a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, careless use of firearm and breach of conditions.
The 50-year-old woman is charged with possession of a controlled substance [Methamphetamine].
The Saskatoon Police Service is continuing its investigation into the incident.
