Saskatoon police arrest homicide suspect

SASKATOON – Update 2: The fourth and final person wanted in connection to a June 10, 2023 homicide has been arrested. 

With the assistance of the SPS Guns and Gangs Unit, 20-year-old Jayden Faith Morin was arrested yesterday. She is charged with Manslaughter. 

Police wish to thank the public and media for their assistance. 

Update: One of two suspects wanted in connection to a homicide on June 10 has been located. 

Tanya Faye Desjarlais was arrested without incident in Saskatoon earlier today. She is facing a charge of manslaughter. 

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of 20-year-old Jayden Faith Morin is asked to contact Saskatoon Police at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Original story: Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section is asking for the public’s help locating two suspects in Theresa Taysup’s murder earlier this month.

Jayden Faith Morin, 20, and Tanya Faye Desjarlais, 32, are suspects and police say their current locations are unknown but they’re believed to be in Saskatoon.

Two women have already been arrested and charged with second-degree murder. Telsa Jade Morin, 38, and Linda Florence Gladys Sutherland, 42, were apprehended a day after the murder at a home in the 300 block of Ave. H Â鶹ÊÓƵ.  

Police had been called to the home at about 1:22 p.m. on June 10 for a weapons complaint. When they arrived, they found an injured woman. Police and Medavie attendants performed life saving measures and she was taken to the Royal University Hospital. She died of her injuries a short time later.

The area where the home is, in Riversdale neighbourhood, is littered with gang tags spray painted on buildings and even vehicles. It is known gang territory. 

Morin is 5-foot-8 and 140 pounds. She has the following tattoos: left forearm – “Morin”; left hand – “J.G.”; left wrist – rosary; left eye - broken heart; right hand – flowers; right cheek – cross; and right eye - tear drop.

Desjarlais is 5-foot-8 and 155 pounds. She has the following tattoos: left hand - tribal design; right side of neck – rose; and left upper-arm - prayer hands.
