Saskatoon police officer assaulted

Police say they found a man was sleeping in the bathroom of a restaurant in the 200 block of 22nd Street East.

A 32-year-old man is charged with assaulting a police officer and breach of conditions.

SASKATOON – A Saskatoon police officer had minor injuries after responding to call for an intoxicated person Thursday night.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., May 25, patrol officers were dispatched to a restaurant in the 200 block of 22nd Street East for a report of an intoxicated man sleeping in the bathroom. When officers arrived, they found the man, who became extremely combative upon waking him up. The man physically assaulted an officer by shoving and choking him. The man was arrested following the altercation and transported to police cells. He was believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant.

A 32-year-old man is charged with assaulting a police officer and breach of conditions.
