SASKATOON – A 38-year-old is accused of an armed robbery at a home in the 1100 block of Northumberland Avenue.
On Nov. 13, at around 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a report that a woman had been assaulted, threatened, and robbed with a firearm. The victim had reportedly been outside the residence in a vehicle.
When police arrived, they were able to locate the victim and confirm the suspect was inside the residence. The SPS Tactical Support Unit attended and officers were able to convince numerous people to safely exit the building, without further incident. This included the suspect, who was then arrested.
The victim was treated at the scene for what are believed to be minor injuries, by Medavie Health Services. The suspect and victim are believed to be known to one another.
A search warrant was subsequently granted and executed at the home where multiple firearms including a sawed-off rifle, sawed-off shotgun, and a homemade zip gun were found.
The 38-year-old man is charged with armed robbery, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, pointing a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and uttering threats to cause death.
