SASKATOON – A 34-year-old man from the One Arrow First Nation is facing charges after he allegedly evaded police.

Just after midnight, Nov. 30, Saskatoon police patrol officers spotted a suspicious vehicle at Richardson Road and McClocklin Road. The officers attempted a traffic stop of the black Hyundai SUV. The driver initially stopped the vehicle at Claypool Drive and McClocklin Road.

When officers approached the vehicle, they were able to see an open bottle of liquor in the front seat. At that time the driver sped away from the scene and began driving in an erratic manner. Officers successfully utilized a tire deflation device at Avenue D and 39th Street, bringing the vehicle to a stop. The driver then refused to exit the vehicle and repeatedly ignored police commands. A less-lethal device was utilized and the man got out of the SUV.

He has been charged with impaired driving, refusing a breath sample, dangerous driving, evading police and breach of probation.
