Saskatoon police catch suspect in early morning stabbing

Victim in hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries, say police.

SASKATOON – An early-morning stabbing led police on a short chase on the 400 block of Hunter Road. At around 12:45 a.m., police were called to that location for a report of an injured person on Jan. 3.

“Upon arrival, police found a 20 year-old man who had been stabbed,” SPS said in a media release. “He was taken to hospital by Medavie Health Services, with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.”

The 34 year-old suspect - who was known to the victim - fled, but was soon arrested after being tracked by the Canine Unit. The suspect has been charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
