Saskatoon police arrest three people in firearms investigation

SASKATOON – Police arrested three people following a firearms investigation.

At around 11:50 a.m. on May 23, Saskatoon police were dispatched to the 600 block of Avenue X Â鶹ÊÓƵ after reports of a male brandishing a firearm. When officers arrived, they spoke with a witness who described the suspect and informed them that he was last seen entering an apartment building nearby. A search of the building led police to locating both the suspect and a sawed-off shotgun. While officers were conducting the search, a second male attempted to flee the building but was quickly apprehended. A search of his person found him to be in possession of fentanyl.

A 30-year-old man has been charged with multiple firearms related offences and a 31-year-old man was charged with possession of a controlled substance, breaching probation orders, and was wanted on multiple warrants. A 21-year-old woman that police encountered during the firearms investigation was also found breaching her release order.
