SASKATOON – A 22-year-old man has been charged with possession of child pornography.
The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation [ICE] Unit had started an investigation this month into child pornography and the man was arrested on Feb. 16 after police raided his home in Saskatoon.
Police seized electronic devices and charged the man with two counts of possession of child pornography. He was released from custody on numerous conditions until his next court appearance on March 13.
The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the Saskatchewan RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service, and Prince Albert Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.
