SASKATOON – A 25-year-old man accused of stabbing three people at Divas Nightclub in Saskatoon almost two years ago had another appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court Tuesday. Wahdan Yahia Ismaeil was remanded in custody and is back in court June 30.
In December 2021, Ismaeil was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of the proceeds of crime.
Saskatoon police had responded to a report of a stabbing at Divas Nightclub at about 1 a.m. on Dec. 4, 2021. When they arrived, they found three people who appeared to be suffering from stab wounds. Two were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Ismaeil was identified as the suspect. When police arrived at the nightclub, they say they observed him discard a loaded firearm. When he was arrested, police say he was in possession of cocaine, two cell phones, a large sum of cash, and a knife.
