Sask. RCMP Major Crimes investigating homicide on Hatchet Lake FN

WOLLASTON LAKE – Two women have been charged in the murder of 42-year-old Christopher Joseyounen from Hatchet Lake First Nation.

According to Wollaston Lake RCMP, at about 6 p.m. on June 22, they were dispatched to a call that someone had been seriously injured at a home on Hatchet Lake First Nation. When officers arrived, they determined that Joseyounen, the injured person, had been taken to receive medical attention at a local clinic. His family has been notified, and victim services made available to them.

One woman was arrested at the scene and the second was arrested the next day, on June 23.

Tricia St. Pierre from Hatchet Lake First Nation, 36, Tinnisha Josie, 18, from Wollaston Lake have both been charged with second-degree murder.

St. Pierre and Josie are scheduled to appear in court in Wollaston Lake on June 26, 2024
