YORKTON – A threat made against a local school piqued the interest of Yorkton RCMP recently.
Just before 9:30 a.m. on March 14, police received the call about the alleged threat, responding immediately. Fortunately, they found no danger posed to students or staff. Further investigation revealed the threat came form an online source.
"Officers worked with technology providers and were able to determine the origins of the threat," said RCMP in a media release.
Austin Ross, 24, of Yorkton was arrested two days later, charged with a single count of uttering threats.
Cole Swain of Margo was arrested on March 17, also facing an uttering threats charge, plus an additional breach of conditions.
Both made their first court appearances on this matter on March 20.
"The accused are not students or staff of the school, and investigators have determined there is no further threat posed to the school," RCMP said.
