REGINA – Two men are facing many firearms-related charges after a police operation that saw the temporary closure of an area around Gordon Road and Pasqua Street.
“The enforcement operation was the culmination of a lengthy investigation by the Regina Police Service Street Gang Unit into illegal firearm possession and drug trafficking in the city of Regina,” RPS explained in a media release.
On Jan. 4, police executed a search warrant at a residence on the 4700 block of Pasqua Street, involving the Street Gang Unit, the SWAT Team, Crisis Negotiator Team and RPS patrol members.
After a search of the residence, police found six firearms, a large amount of ammunition and small quantities of illegal drugs. As a result, a total of 41 charges were laid upon the two men.
Jesse Derrick Fink, 31, was charged with six counts each of unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, possession of a firearm while prohibited; four counts of possession of a prohibited firearm with readily accessible ammunition; and three counts of possession of ammunition while prohibited.
Aleksander Frederix Wosik, 30, was also charged with six counts each of unsafe storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm; and four counts possession of a prohibited firearm with readily accessible ammunition.
Fink and Wosik made their initial court appearances on these charges on Jan. 5 in provincial court.
