MOOSE JAW — The Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) has charged a 33-year-old woman with four counts of fraud over $5,000.

In November 2023, the MJPS received a report from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) of a fraud incident that occurred in Moose Jaw in 2021 and 2022.

The MJPS’s Criminal Investigation Section (CIS) investigated the incident and discovered that the accused had defrauded the victim’s company while employed as a bookkeeper.

During the investigation, police obtained a warrant, which allowed CIS to gather bank records to support the allegation.

As a result of the investigation, Whitney Meacher of Moose Jaw has been charged with four counts of fraud over $5,000.

Meacher has been released on an undertaking to appear in court on July 29.
