P. A. police release photos in year-old cold case, seeks tips

Lawrence Lavallee was gunned down in Prince Albert in May 2022.

PRINCE ALBERT – Police are releasing photos of the suspect vehicle and that of homicide victim Lawrence Lavallee in the hopes of generating tips from the public.

Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) says that just after 5:30 a.m. on May 28, 2022, officers had responded to the 800 Block of 11th Avenue East for a report that a man had been shot. When they arrived, they found Lavallee in the 100 Block of 8th Street East suffering from serious injuries. He was taken to the Victoria Hospital by Parkland Ambulance where he succumbed to his injuries.

PAPS say that Lawrence had left a home in the 1000 Block of 11th Street East prior to being shot. The suspects fled North on 11th Avenue East in a red CHEV Trax SUV immediately after gun shots were heard by witnesses. The SUV was recovered by police but no arrests have been made yet.

Lavalee’s obituary says that he is originally from Edmonton, Alta., and left behind a wife and four children.

PAPS investigators are asking the public to contact police with any information about the suspect vehicle, who is responsible, or involved in the homicide, or if they observed or heard anything suspicious in the area the morning of the incident.

Prince Albert Police Service can be contacted at 306-953-4222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or submit a confidential tip on-line at
