Murder charge laid in December homicide

The homicide occurred on the 1300 block of Retallack Street, Regina.

A 15-year-old male youth, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with second-degree murder.

REGINA — Regina police say a 16-year-old male youth is facing a charge of second-degree murder in relation to a homicide that occurred on Dec. 21, 2023.

At approximately 4 p.m. on Dec. 21, 2023, patrol officers were dispatched to 1300 block of Retallack Street for a report of an injured adult male. When they arrived, they located a seriously injured male victim outside a residence. The male victim, whose name will not be released, was taken by EMS to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of a 15-year-old male youth, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The 15-year-old youth is charged with second-degree murder.
