PRINCE ALBERT – A 45-year-old man accused of killing a woman and trying to kill a female youth made his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court Monday morning.
Thanh Nguyen is charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder. He was arrested at a home in the 1100 block of 2nd Street East on May 6. Police had been called to the home at about 3:30 a.m. for an unknown 911 call.
When police arrived, they found a 35-year-old woman deceased and a female youth injured. She was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening-injuries. Prince Albert Police Service say the man was known to the victims.
The Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Identification Section of the Prince Albert Police Service continue to investigate.
Nguyen is back in court on May 23.
