LA RONGE – Firearms were seized after La Ronge Crime Reduction Team (CRT) executed a search warrant at a home around 9:50 p.m. on Feb. 17 as part of a stolen firearms investigation.
Police seized a sawed-off shotgun, a handgun, an imitation handgun, a semi-automatic shotgun with ammunition, and a sawed-off rifle.
Paul Ratt, 44, and a male youth, both from the La Ronge, were charged with possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without a license, possession of a firearm with a tampered serial number, two counts each of possession of a firearm or prohibited weapon knowing its possession was unauthorized, and two counts of unsafe storage of firearms.
Ratt was additionally charged with three counts of possession of a weapon contrary to an order and failing to surrender authorization. The male youth was additionally charged with two counts, weapons possession contrary to order and fail to surrender authorization.
The youth can’t be identified due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
They both made their first appearance in La Ronge court on Feb. 19.
