La Loche man accused of holding two women hostage, assaulting one

One woman was able to escape and flee the house.

La Loche RCMP say that at about 4:12 a.m. on Nov. 26, they received a report of an armed individual at a home in La Loche.

LA LOCHE – A man has been charged with aggravated assault and forcible confinement after a woman was assaulted.

Tremaine Dacres, 28, has been charged with 19 offences including aggravated assault and forcible confinement.

La Loche RCMP say that at about 4:12 a.m. on Nov. 26, they received a report of an armed individual at a home in La Loche. Officers immediately responded. Their investigation determined an armed man was holding two females against their will in the residence. One of them was able to flee the house.

While officers were setting up a containment area around the house, the male exited the residence. Officers arrested him and seized a handgun.

Officers located the other female inside the residence. Investigation determined she had been assaulted and she was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious in nature.

Dacres has been remanded into custody until his next scheduled court appearance in La Loche Circuit Court on Dec. 4.
