CARROT RIVER – A group of people were arrested after police responded to a report of a serious assault on Red Earth Cree Nation around 6 a.m. on March 17.
The injured man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Carrot River RCMP say that the man was assaulted with weapons by a group of individuals. Officers got a search warrant and raided a home residence on Red Earth Cree Nation on March 20. Four people were arrested at the home. Police seized four firearms, ammunition, a suppressor, and other weapons from the home.
All four were charged with aggravated assault, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, using a firearm during a crime, and possession of a firearm without a license.
They appear in Melfort Provincial Court on March 26.
