REGINA — A 36-year-old sentenced male inmate was declared deceased on Tuesday, April 16, at the Regina Correctional Centre, says Corrections, Policing and Public Safety.
According to a release, the inmate was found unresponsive on a living unit at RCC at approximately 9:20 a.m. Corrections staff initiated life-saving measures and called EMS. EMS attended and the inmate was declared deceased at approximately 10 a.m.
RCMP and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service have been notified and are investigating. The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety will also be conducting an internal investigation.
No foul play is suspected at this time.
