SASKATOON – A lawyer for a man accused of making restricted firearms with a 3D printer and trafficking them asked Saskatoon Provincial Court Thursday for another adjournment.
Defense counsel Jared Aumiller asked that the matter for Norasinh Phouikhounephinith, 47, be adjourned until June 21 and waived delay. Judge Q. Agnew granted the adjournment. Aumiller told the court that there was a miscommunication between his client and himself and said that Phouikhounephinith is at a cabin “up north” and he can’t reach him. He said Phouikhounephinith believed he was to appear next week.
Phouikhounephinith was granted bail Jan. 31, 2022.
He was arrested Jan. 26, 2022, after the Saskatoon Police Service Guns & Gangs Unit raided a home in the 200 block of 23rd Street East. Police seized several firearms, firearm parts and 3D printer components. The charges against him haven’t been tested in court.
