Bear spray incident on Wascana

Police asking public for information to assist investigation.

REGINA – Police are looking to the public for help in an assault investigation.

Just before 6 p.m. on April 15, police and EMS were called to Wascana Drive near the Wascana Rowing and Canoe Club for an assault involving bear spray.

"When police arrived they found two male victims in distress, visibly suffering from the effects of bear spray," said RPS in a media release. "EMS treated the two male victims on scene. Investigation led police to four other victims suffering."

A group of five teens were in the area, with two of them spraying victims.

"Wind carried the spray to a second group walking nearby," RPS said.

The two suspects are boys between 12 and 14 years old, one wearing a red hoodie, the other a white hoodie with cursive writing on it. There were also three or four females in the group.

"Anyone who has information that may be able to assist police in the investigation is asked to contact the Regina Police Service at (306) 777-6500 or submit an anonymous tip through Regina Crime Stoppers at  or 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
