Some health orders and restrictions affecting Manitoba, including the north, will be eased starting Friday.

The province announced the changes Feb. 9, going into effect Feb. 12. The province specifically has announced that the changes are in effect for the entire province, including the north.

"The new orders also bring the entire province under the same restrictions, where the northern region had previously been under separate orders to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the region," reads the provincial announcement issued Feb. 9.

Under the new changes, household visitor restrictions have been eased to allow for indoor visits of two designated people, with five people allowed to join a household for an outdoor get-together on private property. Retail stores will be able to open at 25 per cent capacity or 250 maximum - whichever is lower - while hairstylists and barbershops will be allowed to reopen at 25 per cent capacity, with physical distancing in place.

Restaurants and licensed facilities will be able to reopen to 25 per cent capacity, but with patron groups limited only to people from the same household. Art galleries, museums and libraries will be able to reopen to 25 per cent capacity, along with personal services like tattoo parlours, pedicurists, tanning salons and the like.Ìý

Film industry work in Manitoba can now resume provided physical distancing can be kept. Photographers and videographers able to offer some services to clients, provinding the clients all live in the same household, and can offer services at weddings once again.

Gyms and fitness centres will be able to reopen at 25 per cent capacity., while rinks and sports studios such as dojos can reopen to 25 per cent capacity, but only for individual instruction.

Outdoor rinks can reopen for casual shinny, as well as organized practices and games, but tournaments involving multiple teams will not be permitted.
