'Read Indigenous' space to be dedicated at YPL

Space has been a partnership project in the works for the past year.

YORKTON – The Yorkton Public Library and the Yorkton Tribal Council will host a dedication ceremony on Thursday, September 29th at 11:00 a.m. at the Yorkton Public Library to commemorate a new space designated for Indigenous literature.

The 'Read Indigenous' space has been a partnership project in the works for the past year and includes books, resources, technology, as well as distinct art and furniture to create a welcoming area to honor Indigenous culture and continue the sharing and learning for all community members.

On September 2nd, 2022, the Yorkton Tribal Council donated $7500 to the Library for the purchase of new books. As the YPL celebrates this partnership and this exciting project they invite everyone to the library to be part of the special dedication ceremony.
