YORKTON — It’s going to be a very merry Christmas for the winners of the Yorkton Exhibition Association’s $100,000 cash lottery.
The winners for the grand prize, secondary draws and 50-50 were drawn Monday, and Exhibition Association President Lyle Walsh congratulated the winners, and thanked everyone who bought a ticket for their support.
This year’s grand prize winner was Allyssa Gemme of Pelly, while Dave Prystay of Preeceville had the winning ticket for the 50-50 draw, which earned him $32,105. The proceeds from ticket sales support the work of the Exhibition Association.
Grey McKen and Yorkton Exhibition Association President Lyle Walsh make the draws.
Walsh says the money raised through lottery ticket sales stays local, and helps the Exhibition Association put on events such as the Summer Fair, Spring Expo and Harvest Showdown.
As well, it helps the Exhibition Association to maintain facilities and undertake projects such as work to rebuild a barn on the grounds that was destroyed by fire last December.
