Yorkton Film Club meets monthly at Mountjoy Music Studio.

YORKTON – Joel Richard Stanley, founder of the Yorkton Film Club (YFC), is bringing a unique creative outlet to the community.

The YFC meets monthly at Mountjoy Music Studio, where members engage in improv games, idea sessions, brainstorming and filming sketches.

Stanley's vision for the club is to foster creativity and eventually grow into a company that can compensate its members.

"My expectation is to grow a company to pay our members," said Stanley.

The club's primary focus is on creating comedic films and producing local commercials for businesses.

"We're starting with comedy and local commercials," said Stanley.

For those interested in joining the Yorkton Film Club, Stanley invites them to send a message to Mount Joy Media or to speak with Tony at the studio located at 45 Betts Ave.

Stanley brings a wealth of experience to the club, having run a film club in high school called "Open Society." He also studied animation at Ryerson University and film and music at the Harris Institute in Toronto.
