REGINA — Heritage Saskatchewan is collaborating with artist and folklorist, Shayna Jones, for its latest living heritage project, Black & Rural Saskatchewan, in partnership with the Saskatchewan African Canadian Heritage Museum and the Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan.
Jones will be conducting a series of compelling performances throughout Saskatchewan, interpreting stories of pride and struggle, dismay and triumph from the mouths of African-descent black Canadians who call the Saskatchewan plains their home.
Performance dates and venues include June 19 at Rosetown Museum in Rosetown at 2 pm, June 20 at Kerry Vickar Centre in Melfort at 7 pm, June 22 at Melville Community Works in Melville at 7 pm, June 23 at Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan in Regina at 2pm (RSVP by email by June 16) and June 23 at École Monseigneur de Laval Pavillion secondaire des Quatre Vents in Regina at 7 pm.
