Activity expo highlights local organization

The annual Spring Activity Expo brought together more than 25 local organizations.

YORKTON – The City of Yorkton welcomed residents to the annual Spring Activity Expo at the Gallagher Centre April 8.

About 25 organizations representing local sports, culture and recreational activities were in attendance for the city event.

Jessica Resler, Recreation Services Manager for the City of Yorkton, said the event serves as an opportunity for organizations to connect with the community and introduce new activities.

"They're here to showcase their activities and hopefully introduce new activities to families and community members who may not be aware of what we have in the community right now," said Resler, in an interview with Â鶹ÊÓƵ.ca.

This year’s expo featured a well-represented group of organizations, including new participants eager to share their programs with residents.

Looking ahead, Resler highlighted several upcoming events hosted by the city. Park parties are scheduled for June and July, offering outdoor entertainment for families. In August, the city will collaborate with Parkland Mall for a movie night in the park, set in the green space behind the mall.

"We've got some exciting things, exciting park parties, exciting activities for families and kids to enjoy," said Resler, adding, "I'm just thankful for the community for coming to the events and participating in all of the activities that we've put on."
