Lawrence (Larry) Zbeetneff was born on June 19, 1926 in the Phoenix district to Peter and Anne Zbeetneff. He attended the Phoenix School for Grades 1 to 10 and 11 and 12 were taken by correspondence. After his graduation Larry got a teaching job in Dalis, MB. Later he returned to become a farmer, owned a sawmill, foreman of a Home Building for Indian Affairs, game warden, hail insurance agent, as well as a hail adjuster. On October 30, 1950 he married Jean Ewanchuk in the Russian faith. They were blessed with two children, Michael in 1955 and Cindy in 1958. Larry's hobbies included fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and reading. He enjoyed his vacations to Hawaii, Mexico and BC. Larry was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Anne; two brothers, Peter & John and a special friend Laverna. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory, daughter Cindy (Randy) Kozak of Yorkton, son Michael (Helga) Zbeetneff of Canora and a special cousin Jim Savenkoff. A family visitation was held on October 18, 2016 at Bailey's Funeral Home with Pastor Des Klingspon leading in prayer. The interment took place on October 26, 2016 in the Canora Town Cemetery also with Pastor Des Klingspon officiating.
