WARCOMIKA - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Elsie (nee Paley) Warcomika, beloved wife of the late Steve Warcomika. Elsie passed away peacefully at Wallace House, Yorkton District Nursing Home, on September 19, 2017 at the age of 77 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's and a short battle with cancer. Elsie was born September 25, 1939 in Theodore, SK to George and Sophie (nee Yarmie) Paley where she attended school at Westbrook until grade 8, she then left school to help on the family farm. Elsie then moved to Yorkton to work at the Bus Depot restaurant when she met her husband Steve. On November 8, 1959, at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Elsie was united in marriage to Steve Warcomika. This union was blessed with 3 children and 5 grandchildren. Elsie then worked at Johnnies Dry Cleaners, Perth's and then joined Steve in their own cleaning business Fashion Care Cleaners. During Elsie's life, she enjoyed gardening, loved to watch curling, spent numerous years bowling and following the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Elsie leaves to mourn and to celebrate her life, one son Steven and his wife Tracy and their son Alex of Yorkton and stepchildren Aleshia and Curtis Crozier, Eduardo and Kaitlyn Miranda, Kelly and Justin Kacsmar and Jerry and Gerilee Clarke, two daughters, Barb and her husband Randy and their daughter Kaitlyn and son Michael Pidherny of Preeceville, Heather and her husband Michael and their son Christopher and daughter Terri Flavel of Regina.  Also two brothers Harry and his wife Sylvia Paley, Steve and his wife Shirley Paley and one sister Susie Sukorokoff of Saskatoon along with numerous nieces and nephews. Elsie was predeceased by her parents George and Sophie (nee Yarmie), her husband Steve, March 24, 2002, her sisters Kate, Mary, Dora, Victoria, Lil, Lena, Verna and Alice and her brothers Bill, George, Alex, John, Nick, Fred and two brothers in infancy. Elsie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, may she rest in peace. Prayers were held on Friday, September 22, 2017 at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton. The Funeral  Service was held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church with Rev. Father Ray Lukie, C.Ss.R. officiating. Bernadette Gabora led in the singing of the responses. The cross bearer was Kaitlyn Pidherny. The interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Brent Paley, Blair Paley, Richard Stefanyshyn, Mike Stefanyshyn, Tony Kryski and Terry Halushka serving as the casket bearers.
