Mrs. Marcia Tkachuk of Yorkton, formerly of the Buchanan district, widow of Mike entered eternal rest on
Wednesday, October 10th, 2012 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre surrounded by her loving family. Marcia was born in the Rama District of Saskatchewan to Peter and Pauline Romaniuk (nee Hrynchyshyn) where she grew up on the family farm. When Marcia married Mike the young couple moved to the Tkachuk homestead north of Buchanan SK. There they were blessed with 5 children,
whom they taught to love animals and respect the land. In 1973 Mike and Marcia moved to Yorkton. There Marcia was fortunate enough to secure a position as a cook, which was her No. 1 passion. She loved cooking and took pride in making the meals perfect and on time. Marcia's hobbies were spending time in her garden and flower beds. She loved to visit all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always excited to travel with her family on winter excursions. She was an active member in the ladies UCWLC at St. Mary's Church. Some of her other passions were playing cards, going to the mall for coffee with her friends, and cutting her grass to perfection. Predeceased by her husband, Mike, parents Peter and Pauline; sisters: Janet Rempel, Delores Kachowski, Ethel Tkachuk; brothers Joe and John Romaniuk. Marcia leaves to celebrate her life sons: Lorne (Lorene) Tkachuk of Sudbury ON, Lloyd (Lewann) Tkachuk of Innisfil ON; daughters: Monica (Alfred) Czwartkowski, of Edmonton AB, Corinne (Tim) Muirhead of Nanaimo, BC and Tammy (Dwight) Ruf of Yorkton SK. Grandchildren: Chris Tkachuk, Erin (Andrew) Sunter, Michael (Roberta) Tkachuk, Tammy (Bill) Panton, Victoria (Tom) Irving, Peter Czwartkowski, Gregory Muirhead, Ashley Muirhead and Nicholas Ruf. Great-Grandchildren: Addison, Kaitlin and Alissa Tkachuk, Adian and Parker Sunter, Samantha Tkachuk, Austin Kernohan and Emma Panton; Sisters: Elsie Wiwchar of Shannonville ON, Grace (Cy) Garland of Mississauga ON, Gertrude (Archie) Chambers of Winnipeg Beach MB, Iris (Carl) Brettschneider of Brampton ON, and Vivian (Gordon) McKee of Dryden ON. As well as many nieces and nephews. The Prayer Service was held on Friday, October 12, 2012 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre. The Holy Rosary led by Ukrainian Catholic Women's League preceded the prayers. Requiem Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton with Very Rev. Father Peter Pidskalny, C.Ss.R. as the Celebrant. The responses were led by Ed Pindus, Colette Karapita & parish choir members. The cross bearer was Ashley Muirhead and the epistle reader was Samantha Tkachuk. Members of UCWLC participated in an honour guard. Michael Tkachuk and Victoria Irving served as honorary pallbearers. The interment followed in the Garden of St. Luke at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with
Chris Tkachuk, Tammy Panton, Erin Sunter, Peter Czwartkowski, Gregory Muirhead and Nicholas Ruf serving as the casket bearers.
