SUTHERLAND - Lloyd Sutherland, beloved husband of Karol of Yorkton, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina following a brief illness. He was 66 years of age. Lloyd was born in Calgary on November 29, 1950 to Donald and Jeanette Sutherland. He grew up in Bowsman, MB where he met Karol (nee Urbanoski) at a dance.  They married in Swan River, MB in 1970. After the birth of Lesley in 1971 and David in 1974, the family moved to Lynn Lake, MB where Lloyd started his trucking career. In 1987 the family moved to Yorkton where he continued truck driving and found his place in the trap-shooting community. Over the next thirty years he was an accomplished shooter, as well as a committed member of the trap shooting association. Lloyd received many accolades on the local, provincial and national level throughout his shooting career. His passion for the sport was evident up to the weekend of his passing, where he was calculating score sheets and statistics from his hospital bed. Lloyd and Karol's annual winter trips included several US and Central America destinations. They found their favourite holiday spot in Thailand where they have spent two months the last seven winters. Predeceased by his parents, Donald & Jeanette; sister Monica, father-in-law Frank, brother-in-law Fred and grandson Brighton. Lloyd leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Karol; daughter Lesley (Rick) Nielsen, grandchildren Megan & Haley; son David (Naree) Sutherland, grandson Cash; siblings Wendy, Richard, Christa, Erena, Stacey and Chadwin.  He is also survived by his mother-in-law Mary Urbanoski and children, Stanley, Linda and Michael and their families. The funeral service was held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Doreen Day, Certified Celebrant, officiating. Music played were the songs "Halleluia", "Dancing in the Sky" and "Go Rest High on that Mountain". The interment took place in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Barry Signarowski, Dale Shakleton, Ron Todd, John Nuttal, Jim Brown and Terry Maksymiw serving as the casket bearers.
