Enid Marion Schafer resided at Victoria Court at the time of her passing on April 27, 2012 at the age of 80 years old. Enid was born to William and Mildred Kermeen on December 13, 1931. Enid was united in marriage to William Schafer on Sept 1, 1951. They had five children: Sandra (Lauren) Brenner, Richard (Deb) Schafer, Gail (Doug) Kobitz, Norman Schafer (Raquel Mandziak), and Kathy (Linus) Jones. After raising her children for several years, in 1968 Enid became employed at the Yorkton Psychiatric Centre as a Nurses Aid. She continued this position until her retirement in 1987. After her retirement Enid relocated to several towns resulting in being closer to family. She lived in Nelson BC, near her parents and sister. Once returning to Saskatchewan she resided in Melville and then Jansen where she became one of the Golden Girls enjoying coffee times and chit chats. Enid has always enjoyed crafting. She tried her hand at almost anything which resulted in wonderful gifts for her grandchildren, such as a My Little Pony or a knitted finger puppet. She was a Master Chocolatier and provided chocolates for every occasion to all her family and friends. She enjoyed reading, games, and socializing with friends and family. At Victoria Court she excelled in her shuffleboard. Enid learned how to operate her computer in her 70's and learned to surf the net to gather information about the Isle of Mann as well as genealogy information. She also took a writing course and wrote several short stories. Enid was very much a family person and was very proud of her 5 children, 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; always taking pride in announcing just how many she had. Enid is survived by her children, grand children and great grandchildren, her sister Muriel, brother Jim as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, a sister Margaret and her grandson Chad. The funeral service was held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre, Yorkton.
