Mr. Mike Rohatensky of Yorkton, beloved husband of Julia entered eternal rest on Friday, November 25, 2011 at the Regina General Hospital with his family by his side. He was 82 years of age. Michael Vladimir Rohatensky was born on August 28, 1929 at Calder, SK, a son of Dmetro Rohatensky and Mae (nee Sobkow). Mike was predeceased by his parents, parents-in-law, brother Bill Rohatensky, brother-in-law William Smandych, sister-in-law, Sylvia Rohatensky, grandson Brent Mayer and nephew Blair Rohatensky. Mike took great delight in meeting new people and enjoyed the company of many friends, old and new. Mike was a dedicated family man and took great pleasure in our many family gatherings. Mike enjoyed travelling with his beloved wife to many places around the world. Mike was true to his faith and dedicated to supporting his church. Mike leaves to honour and cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 59 years, Julia Rohatensky (nee Elash), who was his constant companion and dedicated care giver; his daughter Patricia (Dave) of Regina and their children; daughter Christal (Ryan), son Dallas (Megan) and their children, Dylan and Jessa, daughter Jewel. Daughter Jeannette (Harvey) of Dewinton, AB and their children, daughter Tracey and her children Niklas and Alexandra, daughter Pamela. Son Mervin of Yorkton, SK and his children, son Jason (Melanie) and their children, Tessa, Jakaya, Amyla and Ellia, son Joey and his children Mackenzie and Keyena. Brothers, Tony (Vi) of Calder, SK, Jim of Winnipeg, MB, Peter (Iris) of Kelowna, BC, sister Vicky of Estevan, SK, sister-in-law Marie Rohatensky of Calder, SK and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. Prayers were on Monday, November 28 and the Requiem Divine Liturgy on Tuesday, November 29 at St. Mary‚s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton with Rev. Father Methodius Kushko, C.Ss.R. as the Celebrant. The responses were led by Ed Pindus & Parish Choir Members. The crossbearer was Niklas Schmidt - Roycroft and the epistle readers were Jeannette Schmidt & Christal Fellner. The interment took place in the Garden of Gethsemane at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Joey Rohatensky, David Mayer, Jason Rohatensky, Harvey Schmidt, Dallas Mayer and Ryan Fellner serving as the casket bearers.
