It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, William (Bill) Rieder, of Yorkton, SK. Bill passed away peacefully, at his home with Olga at his side, on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at the age of 80. William was born on May 23, 1931 to Wilhelm and Elise Rieder in the Rokeby District, he was the oldest of four children. William grew up in the Rokeby and Tonkin area where he attended Shamrock school, a rural school near the family farm. He began his lifelong career on the family farm at an early age, farming was his passion until his final day. In 1955 William married Olga Mysko at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Yorkton. William and Olga took over the family farm soon after their marriage. Their family grew on the farm to include a son, Darrell, two daughters, Linda and Leslie, and numerous animals and pets. He cherished his time with family and friends, and was blessed with six grandchildren and one great grandson. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, going for coffee, playing cards, and conversing about the farm. He was a devoted member of St Paul Lutheran Church all his life; he was baptized, confirmed and married in this church, and served on council. William was predeceased by his parents, Wilhelm and Elise; sister-in-law, Joan Mysko and brothers-in-law, Gordon Andrews, Orry Yaholnitsky and Steve Mysko. William is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Olga; his son, Darrell (Joyce) Rieder of Â鶹ÊÓƵey, SK and their children: Lisa (Andy) their son, Levi; and Colleen; his daughter, Linda (Brad) Ouart of Yorkton, SK and their children, Pamela (Dennis) and Tyler (Nicole); and daughter, Leslie (Dale) LeBlue of Hinton, AB and their children, Dion, aka Goofy, (Skyler) and Allanah. He is also survived by siblings, Henry (Sonja) Rieder, Anne Rieder and Margaret Rieder-Andrews; sisters-in-law, Irene Yaholnitsky and Nettie Mysko and brother-in-law Ernie Mysko, numerous nieces and nephews and friends. William touched many lives; he will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his many family and friends. The Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Yorkton, SK with Pastor Fred Schneider officiating. The organist, Joleen Cherland, let the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "Lord, Take My Hand and Lead Me", "This is My Father's World", "The Strife is O'er; The Battle Won" and "Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory". Soloist, Ray Yost, sang one selection "Precious Lord, Take my Hand". William's daughter, Linda Ouart and granddaughter, Pam Ouart shared words of tribute and eulogy. The interment service followed in the Yorkton Memorial Gardens, Garden of St. Matthew with William's son, Darrell Rieder serving as the urn bearer.
